30 Years of Buckley London!
July 24, 2019

We have turned 30! Woo!!
It has been a long journey from our humble beginnings back in the Eighties and we’ve enjoyed many important milestones on the way! Read on to learn more about our history.
Buckley London was founded by Adrian Buckley in 1989, built upon the values of a family company and we have retained this ethos throughout everything we do ever since.

You might not realise from our name, but Buckley London was first Buckley Jewellery, and we grew from a tiny site in West Yorkshire. Despite reaching every corner of the globe and having offices based in London we’ve never forgotten our Yorkshire roots and still operate our Head Office in Leeds. Everything happens here from the very first idea of our jewellery collections with our in house designers, to taking your orders online with our friendly web team, and Adrian can still be found around the office ordering Friday morning bacon butties for everyone.

Despite keeping a real family feel, (with regular curry nights, and celebrations for all the big birthdays and special occasions), the Buckley London brand is now known and loved world wide. We are stocked in over 1,000 international retail locations, over 120 airport locations, 108 airlines and over 100 cruise ships. In fact it’s pretty impossible to travel anywhere in the world without seeing one of our jewellery stands!

One thing really dear to our hearts has always been supporting charitable causes and to give something back to those less fortunate.
Since 2010, Buckley London has worked very closely with the Royal British Legion, raising over £5 million to date through the sale of the exclusively designed crystal poppy brooch as part of ‘The Poppy Collection®’.
The official poppy brooches have been worn by many celebrities and influential figures, including The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Angelina Jolie and Lady Gaga, to name a few.

In 2012, the Adrian Buckley Charitable Trust was established, funded by donations and charity events. The trust’s first project was the opening of the Kyasira Home of Hope in 2013, a school and orphanage in Uganda. The home has hugely improved the lives of the local Kyasira people, giving them care, a safe place to live and an education. Further developments were made in 2018 with the building of a new kitchen and dining hall to improve living conditions at the orphanage.

Buckley London have also supported a number of other charities through the design and manufacture of exclusive pieces, including the official Breast Cancer Research Crystal Ribbon Brooch, an official Help For Heroes Brooch and the Marie Curie Daffodil Brooch in aid of the Great Daffodil Appeal.

Still to this day, Adrian’s passion for developing a jewellery that feels special but can be worn by anyone for any occasion flows throughout the business.
To celebrate 30 fantastic years we have created a bespoke anniversary Collection – Legacy.

Legacy is the most premium and luxe of all the new AW collections, reflecting on the journey of the brand over the last three decades. The faceted metal designs have a nod to the 80’s, whilst offering a contemporary twist. The collection symbolizes our diverse following, bridging the gap between customers both long-standing and new. This range of pendants, earrings, rings and bracelets is finished in a real gold plating and adorned with beautifully handset crystals.
We are forever grateful to our customers and partners who have supported the business over the 30 years, enabling Buckley London to become the brand that it is today. Here’s to another sparkling 30 years!
